Barry Logan

A leader in forensic science, Dr. Barry Logan is a toxicologist who serves as executive director of the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education at the Fredric Rieders Family Renaissance Foundation in Pennsylvania. In his position, toxicologist Dr. Barry Logan oversees nonprofit research, writes academic papers for peer-reviewed publications, and assists in teaching courses at several universities, including Thomas Jefferson University and Arcadia University. To better serve the field, he has maintained membership in the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT) since 1998.

Founded in the 1970s, SOFT is dedicated to developing and promoting forensic toxicology for those interested or practicing in the field. It offers membership with several benefits.
1. Awards: SOFT celebrates outstanding contributors to the field of forensic sciences, including the Young Scientist Meeting Award (YSMA) and Educational Research Award (ERA).
2. Continued Education: Members are eligible to partake in online educational programs.
3. The Annual Meeting: Forensic toxicologists from around the world convene at the SOFT Annual Meeting for networking opportunities, exhibitor sessions, and more. Forensic toxicologists interested in presenting are invited to submit abstracts. The 2019 event takes place in San Antonio, Texas, from Oct. 13-18.
